Texas / Family / Fallow deer

A family breeding operation

It started with
a handful of corn.

A few pet deer became a family responsibility. Now we’re building something worth passing on.

Our story

Caring for the deer, 2009.
From the family album / 2009

Before it was
an operation,
it was personal.

Grandpa Bob kept fallow deer and fed them corn by hand. When the family inherited the deer, we inherited the responsibility, too.

The story behind the ranch

02 / The work today

The herd is
the starting point.

Learning the herd. Improving the ranch. Listening to people who have been doing this longer than we have.

03 / Along the way

Notes from
the learning curve.

People in the deer industry helped us find our footing. That generosity is part of our story, and something we want to carry forward.
